Total Joint Surgeon: Lead the Next Generation of the Northwest’s Outpatient Joint Volume Leader, with a Partnership Track and ASC Ownership
Regenerative Orthopedic Center (ROC) | Portland Metro: Tualatin, West Linn, Oregon CityMost joint surgeons are asked to choose between staying independent and having the scale to compete. ROC is built so you don’t have to.
ROC is a physician-owned, independent orthopedic practice that has grown 90% in three years and now has 26 providers and 15 physical therapists across the Portland metro area. ROC is the Northwest’s outpatient total joint volume leader. We have stayed independent on purpose. Physicians govern the practice, clinical decisions stay with clinicians, and the practice’s growth benefits the people who built it rather than an outside investor.
We are looking for a fellowship-trained total joint surgeon to anchor and grow our hip and knee arthroplasty program in a system designed around episode-of-care excellence.
The portfolio you’d join
ROC Clinical offers comprehensive orthopedic and surgical care, with subspecialty colleagues in sports medicine, spine, hand, and foot and ankle. This gives you a strong internal referral base.
ROC Active is our integrated physical therapy division, recently expanded through acquisition. It covers prehab and rehab under one roof, so your outcomes aren’t left to chance.
Oregon Surgical Select (OSS) is our bundled-payment entity, which contracts directly with employer-sponsored health plans. Joint replacement is at the center of this model. You would be building direct-to-employer volume that most surgeons in the market can’t access.
ROC continues to expand its ancillary services in imaging, DME, and in-office procedures, consistent with CMS’s ongoing shift of total joints to outpatient settings.
Oregon Surgical Institute (OSI): Outpatient Total Joints, Done Right
Oregon Surgical Institute is an award-winning outpatient surgical center of excellence dedicated to total joint replacement. OSI sets the gold standard for outpatient total joint care, with pathways built for efficient, high-quality, same-day joint replacement and an exceptional patient experience.
For the right surgeon, OSI offers an ownership opportunity. You would share in the value you create, not just the work you perform. Combined with OSS’s direct-to-employer bundles and ROC Active’s integrated rehab, this means you can own the full episode of care, from the first visit through surgery to recovery.
Step Into an Established High-Volume Program
This isn’t a startup role. ROC’s joint program is entering a planned succession as senior surgeons approach retirement over the next several years. That gives the right surgeon a rare opportunity to step into an established, high-volume practice, with a built-in patient base, mature referral channels, and proven outpatient pathways, and to grow it into the next generation of ROC’s joint program. You’d take on mentorship and continuity while having room to put your own mark on it.
Why now
ROC has a formal 2026–2029 strategic plan and is actively expanding its footprint and service lines. Between the planned succession and our growth strategy, the surgeon in this role will help shape the future of our joint program, bundles, and site-of-service strategy.
What we offer
We offer competitive, production-based compensation, a defined path to partnership, and an ownership opportunity at Oregon Surgical Institute. You’d have the support of an experienced team in revenue cycle, payer contracting, and operations, and you’d live in one of the most livable regions in the Pacific Northwest.
Who we’re looking for
We want a board-certified or board-eligible, fellowship-trained arthroplasty surgeon. Interest in outpatient and rapid-recovery joint pathways, value-based care, and program building is a strong plus.
