ROC, a physician-owned medical practice dedicated to providing exceptional, comprehensive orthopedic care to patients of all ages, welcomes Sam Cheesman, MD/MBA, a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon, fellow trained in hand surgery.

Dr. Cheesman joins upper extremity specialists, Dr. Brian Puskas and Dr. David Huberty, treating a variety of conditions affecting the hands, wrists, and elbows to improve quality of life, alleviate pain, restore function, and enhance overall well-being for patients.

“For Clackamas and Washington counties residents, Dr. Cheesman’s arrival means they have greater access to care in a specialty that is in very high demand,” says Dr. Huberty. “We look for Dr. Cheesman to lead the development of new programs, services, and technology within ROC and we are proud to welcome him to our team.”

“I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this innovative and compassionate group of physicians and staff,” says Dr. Cheesman. “The team takes a patient-first approach, which resonates with me, and they also value innovation and new technologies that enhance outcomes and most importantly – patient care and satisfaction.”

Dr. Cheesman received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He completed hand surgery training at the University of New Mexico, a center known for its high volume of complex trauma and late presentation of disease processes. Dr. Cheesman is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

In addition to Dr. Cheesman’s subspecialty training in hand surgery, he has experience in orthopedic surgery, including the treatment of fractures and soft tissue injuries of the lower extremity. Further, Dr. Cheesman earned a Master of Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with the aim of improving operational efficiencies to maximize value for patients.

Recently, Regenerative Orthopedic Center and Orthopedics Northwest, two of the most prominent orthopedic practices in Clackamas and Washington counties, merged and began operating as ROC, a physician-owned medical practice dedicated to providing exceptional, comprehensive orthopedic care to patients of all ages.
