About Dr. Elliott Cole

Dr. Cole is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in sports medicine, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of injuries involving the knee, shoulder, and hamstring. His practice includes both operative and non-operative care for athletes and active individuals of all ages, with the goal of restoring function, reducing pain, and helping patients safely return to their sport or activity.

Dr. Cole brings advanced expertise in arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques, allowing for faster recovery and improved outcomes for common sports injuries such as ACL tears, meniscal injuries, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and hamstring avulsions. He also treats chronic overuse conditions and provides individualized return-to-play plans rooted in evidence-based protocols.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Cole serves as a team physician for the Lake Oswego High School Ski and Lacrosse teams, offering sideline support, injury prevention strategies, and continuity of care for student-athletes throughout their season. His involvement underscores his commitment to supporting youth athletics and keeping young athletes safe, healthy, and in the game.

Dr. Cole is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine and a focus on knee and shoulder injuries. He is proud to provide patient-centered care at ROC in Tualatin and Oregon City, Oregon.

Dr. Cole received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University where he also played Division 1 Men’s Basketball. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Dr. Cole moved west where he completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Oregon Health & Science University. He then completed the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, where he provided team coverage to high school, NCAA Division 1, and professional sports teams including the Cal Golden Bears and the San Francisco Giants.

At ROC, Dr. Cole’s practice interests include treating the full spectrum of shoulder, knee, and sports-related injuries, ranging from non-operative care to arthroscopic and open surgical options. He believes that educating patients on their injuries and all of the available treatment options is key to providing tailored care that gets patients back to doing the activities they love. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cole enjoys playing basketball, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his fiancé and their dog.
