What Patients Say

Elaine L.

I was immediately impressed. Dr. Coen listened carefully to my concerns before he even did the exam. It was comforting and a relief. I felt secure and well cared for.

Dr. Coen is kind, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable. I am so grateful to see him after a significant injury to my knee. I went in feeling very nervous and afraid that I would never function normally again. However, I came out of the appointment feeling like there was a clear plan in front of me, even though it came with several different potential paths. He really took the time to listen, examine and explain. Kudos to his entire staff, especially Barbara who creatively helped get the imaging that I needed. Everyone is so kind and warm, exactly the place you want to be if you have to be injured.

Kristin H.

Debbie K.

I am so excited to start this long awaited journey of no more knee pain. Dr. Coen explained thoroughly what the process is, how it's going to be done and the hard work I have to put in afterwards. The staff was very pleasant.

My knee replacement has been flawless. Dr Coen is a gem. Probably equivalent to the hope diamond. I have really appreciated the straight shooting approach and his professionalism and skill. We will encourage anyone who asks to go see him, even if they don't ask.

Bobbie M.

Five stars for Dr. Coen! He is concise, concerned, and helpful with his follow-up. He answered all my questions, as well as several I didn't think to ask. He is the Man!

Bobbie M.

Jill S.

I have a serious problem going on in my right hip. After talking with Dr. Coen, about his care plan for me, I can honestly say I feel safe, and confident that I will be taken care of!

Jill S.

Jessica L.

Dr. Coen was amazing. He is a very good listener right from the start. He walked me through my images and discussed the findings with me and explained different scenarios that could occur. I never felt rushed and he took the time to answer all of the questions I had and gave details about what to expect. He even followed me out to give pointers on proper crutch use. He seems to have a real passion for his job!

Christy W.

I recently had both hips replaced in a 4 month span. I am very pleased with the entire experience working with Dr. Coen. His competence shines in every aspect of the surgical experience--pre-op to post-op. Honestly, if I had three hips, I would have him operate on the third one. (But I'm glad I don't!)

Christy W.

Judy H.

Dr. Coen is a great doctor and I would highly recommend him. He’s very knowledgeable and compassionate.

I feel that Dr Coen is an expert in knee treatment, replacement surgery and recovery. He is straight forward with his patients. During our first meeting, x-rays were taken, presented his diagnosis and laid out the possible treatments. He then took the time to listen to me and answer my questions. He got me set up on a non opioid prescription that greatly improved my pain levels immediately. Then when I decided to move forward, things happened in a very orderly fashion. I was worried how these steps would play out, but that was a waste of my time. I had Providence medical insurance. They worked along with Dr. Coen in advising me how to prepare for the surgery and sanitize me. The surgery was pain free which to me is miraculous. Now in recovery which is not pain free, but Dr. Coen has kept me in pain meds and has been available when needed. The documentation ROC Orthopedic provides before and after is very helpful and answers many questions. I highly recommend Dr Coen and ROC Orthopedics to anyone in need of knee treatment and replacement.

Charles L.

Probably the best specialist experience I’ve had on a first visit. Dr Coen was a straight shooter, he listened to me, taught me how things worked, suggested I do my own research on the topic, and was very friendly.

Charles L.

Susan H.

Very personable, knowledgeable and discusses your personal injury pros and cons and treatment to consider. Less invasive to what may be needed in the future. Gives you the options to help decide on the next best course.

What I like about Dr. Coen, he honestly takes the time to listen and isn’t concern about a window block of no more than 20+ minutes for a patient. His staff is always friendly, yet professional. I wasn’t happy knowing I had to go see an orthopedic surgeon, but glad I did. Amazing outcome.

Teri C.

Very much appreciated Dr. Coen's honesty about recommended treatment, possible issues that could result and the time frame I had asked if he could accommodate. Not what I wanted to hear, but I am glad that he did not try and sugarcoat anything and gave what he believed to be reasonable expectations. Greatly appreciated Doc.

The staff at ROC has been highly efficient and cordial at all levels, the on-line pre and post surgery info and care were very helpful. In both pre and post-op appointments, Dr Coen's personal touch and information were exceptional. I will recommend ROC highly to others. Marie M.

Dr. Coen is a wonderful orthopedic surgeon and a wonderful Doctor. I had a one year checkup visit with him, concerning my knee replacement. He took x rays, and explained thoroughly how my replacement is doing. He expects it to last the full 20 years, or even more. He thoroughly checked my range of motion, my extension, on both legs (my other knee replacement was 11 years ago). He told me how I would feel if there was any problem with my knee replacement. He is very positive, encouraging, and does excellent surgery work. He was glad to see me again, and glad that I am doing so well. Dr. Coen cares about us. He is humble, kind, has lots of energy, is fun, and is grateful. I am so grateful that he operated on me. I trust him.

Marie M.

Bonnie M.

Dr. Coen was an excellent listener. He clearly identified the type of injury to my left knee based on years of experience and explained next steps. Following an MRI, surgery was scheduled and performed with good results. I have had two follow-up appointments and Dr. Coen's advice was appreciated. I would highly recommend Dr. Coen for his excellent care!

Bonnie M.

Carol D.

Dr. Coen has given me my life back. He was the surgeon that replaced my knee and this surgery was absolutely life altering for me. He listens to his patients and assists them in making decisions without talking down to them or telling them what to do in a condescending manner. Dr. Coen cares about his patients and always has their best interest in mind.

Carol D.

Denise M.

Dr. Coen and his staff were great. I really appreciated the online support they offer their patients too. Lot of information and they answered all my questions within 30 minutes when contacting them outside of an office visit. Very responsive and thorough. I should have done this procedure ages ago and would have if I had known what a positive experience it would be. The final outcome was what I wanted.

Denise M.

Nadene L.

Dr. Coen performed an anterior total hip replacement on me in February 2018. From start to finish, I felt I was in expert hands. He is calm yet energetic, well-informed and highly skilled, and his entire team is kind, attentive, and knowlegable. It felt like nothing short of a miracle that, after a year of pain, I WALKED out of the surgery center the same day. I ditched the pain meds the following morning, and am walking a little farther each day. He and his team have given me a new life.

Nadene L.

Michael A.

I first met Dr. Coen about 8 years ago. He was recommended to me by my primary care physician. From the very first moment I knew he was the right choice. He was very easy to talk to and had a confidence and manner about him that put me at ease. My right hip was a huge success! Going strong now for 8 years now! I just recently did my left hip with and once again I am experiencing the same success. I really believe this is because of the quality of care I've received from him and the clinic!
